We first met Lizzie and her mum at a wedding fair at Hoghton Tower. I remember talking to Lizzie as they had come to the wedding fair specifically to check us out and booked for a consultation there and then (this is a great way to come and see what we do without having to make an appointment. Check out our events section to see where we are going to be next).
We loved every minute of our fittings with Lizzie and her entourage. We were able to schedule appointments midweek (which are inevitably less pressured than Saturdays) so it felt more like hanging out than anything else.
Lizzie chose to combine various ideas from several of our designs for her wedding dress and added her own twist to make it all her own. She chose a champagne duchess satin with the palest gold tulle overlay and is one of our trend setting brides opting for a high-low hem (the best way to show off those Charlotte Mills shoes AND rock a train) and added a flash of that gorgeous pillar-box red to her petticoats. Lizzie also added strings of crystals and ivory and blush pearls to the back of her dress… *total swoon*
Lizzie also commissioned the show stopping head piece; singed and curled ostrich feathers and sinamay curls laces with Ivory, coffee and mocha pearls… doesn’t she look AMAZING!
We also had the pleasure of creating the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses; Marine blue silk 50’s dresses with red frothy petticoats for Andrea and Nia and Chloe had a bespoke dress styled on Lizzie’s wedding dress with blue sequin sash.
Congratulations Lizzie and Gareth!
