Legend Bridal has a new home in Great Harwood

WE’VE DONE IT! It’s taken various attempts and some serious coordination, but we have moved premises! All appointments, from this point on, will be at our new address! We have packed up and abandoned our cute little terraced house on Strawberry Bank and traded up for an awesome Grade II listed building in the heart of Great Harwood. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still a lot to do! Moving before wedding season is over was never going to be easy, but the important things are in place; our showroom is starting to look like a showroom and our sewing studio is beginning to take shape, but most importantly all our brides’ dresses and accessories are safely homed in their new abode. We may not have a sign or a window cleaner yet, but we have space and a home for everything! So, what’s the low down? 1: our new address is as follows… Upper floors, 12 Queen Street Great Harwood BB6 7QQ 2: We’re on the first floor… It’s worth noting that there is a flight of stairs to get to our studio. We’re aware this isn’t ideal for everyone but they’re shallow and wide and actually quite easy to Continue Reading →

We’ve been quiet but look at everything we’ve been up to…

You know we’re busy right? The ‘I don’t even have time to check my shirt is on the right way out’ kinda busy. The ‘I’m placing orders twice because I’d rather have 2 than find out I didn’t order any’ kinda busy. The kinda busy where if a job takes more than 30 seconds to complete and isn’t directly connected to a brides order it simply gets added to the ever increasing ‘to do’ list. I bleat on about it ALL the time. I feel like I’m constantly harping on about how little time there is in a day or the things I’ve yet to do… or maybe I don’t? I realise that even though I have this constant monologue going on in my head, very rarely does it leek out. And instead of telling you guys how crazy busy we are, or how our appointments are booked up for several weeks or that we’re not taking any more orders for this summer, it simply looks like we’ve gone quiet. Because writing a blog post takes time. And time feels like an ever decreasing commodity. As a result several weeks have passed since our last update and I’m scared by Continue Reading →

Should we create a newsletter?

It’s crazy times here at Legend and there is so much of our day to day life that we can’t share with you. It’s a clandestine affair – so much of what we do has to be kept secret so that we don’t spoil any surprises for our brides. It’s serious business. Can you imagine if we inadvertently shared glimpses of dresses we are working on and gave away our brides? We are so used to keeping our day to day work secret that we actually find it quite difficult to share the other sides of our business, particularly on social media. It seems to go against the grain somehow. Almost as if it’s unprofessional to share anything other than the finished article in a perfectly manicured setting… and you definitely don’t want to see our ugly mugs do you? But it’s something we plan to work on. If you’re anything like me I find it absolutely fascinating to see how something is made or look into someone’s work space… well maybe we can work on ‘how our collection dresses are made’ to give you that look behind the scenes. Of course if you do want to keep up to Continue Reading →

October round up

I feel like I’m always banging on about how busy we are but seriously, where did October go? There’s no guessing it’s my favourite time of year. The evenings are drawing in and Autumn is taking hold in all it’s fiery glory. October also brings my favourite holiday and a chance to get all spooky. So how is it that it’s already November? Well, the thing is, the wedding season may have calmed down but WE certainly have not let up the pace. We have so may exciting things happening behind the scenes that we CANNOT wait to share with you… SO many things! Unfortunately we’ve got to keep them under wraps for just a little bit longer but I’m sure you’ll be just as excited as us when we get to share our news. It does mean however that the blogs that I had planned for the last couple of weeks didn’t happen (don’t worry, they’ll see the light of day soon) but I didn’t want October to pass by without celebrating it, so here are some of my favourite features from around the web that I hope you’ll LOVE as much as I do. First up, our very Continue Reading →

These dip-dye details ensure your heart will soar

Do you think Gwen Stephanie knew what kind of waves she would create in the wedding world when she married Gavin Rossdale back in 2002? Or that her wedding dress would be described as iconic and exhibited in the V&A? That dip-dyed John Galliano wedding dress is still stealing hearts and its a trend that is only now really starting to make it’s way into popularity. We are seeing more and more incredible dip dyed wedding dresses and LOVE how easy it is to infuse your day with your personality without deviating too far from tradition. Here is Nerine, our dip dyed lace and tulle dress as modeled by Betty on our shoot with Tiree Dawson Photography. The shoot was featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings and Coco Wedding Venues and the full shoot can be found here: It’s becoming quite an obsession. I love how unique and creative every dress can be and how versatile the idea is. We’ve created a few dip-dyed wedding dresses now  and the idea can be taken so much further when you’re having your dress made, so here are some ideas of how you can use the dip-dye or ombre effect in your own wedding: Continue Reading →

Would you like to model for us?

We are not like other bridal shops. You know this. You know that we design and make everything ourselves and that every dress is unique. We are constantly taking images of our work, details and snippets throughout the process, but never share any of it… I’m terrible at taking pictures; blurry, over exposed (yes I can do that with an iPad) and ALL the jaunty angles they are working photos to help us remember what’s going on, they’re not styled or staged beautiful detail shots we NEVER share pictures of actual brides wedding dresses until after the wedding – in which case pictures of their wedding day are much more interesting. This means that in order to show you what we can do we need to create styled photo shoots. Our ideas vary wildly; sometimes we want to create an ethereal woodland fairytale, sometime and edgy and contemporary showcase and sometimes, we just get an idea of a scene and just need to bring it to life and we often work with other wedding suppliers to bring together an idea. As such are always on the lookout for models for various projects. If you are interested in getting involved, either Continue Reading →
