New Design – Erica, heather blossom inspired bridal gown

You may have seen glimpses of this dress in our previous post on the Flower Fairies shoot or seen it featured on Whimisal Wedding Wonderland blog, but there is just so much gorgeousness and inspiration in that project that its waaaay to easy to get distracted by the styling details by Nina Marika, or drool over the Macaron tower by Medici Macerons. I know you’re busy trying to book the adorable heart lights by Typical Type and that you’ve all already checked whether Tiree is available to photograph your wedding. There is so much LOVE for this shoot. I still get lost pouring over the images… you have no idea how long this little blog has taken me to write! So I thought it was about time I took a closer look and shared our 3 creations in more detail. We have talked about Nerine, Anise will follow shortley, but here is Erica… Erica We named this dress Erica as we took inspiration from the Ericacaea family (or Heather to you and me). Tiny heather coloured blossoms clustered in stems that trail over the delicate lace detail. That’s the first thing you see… colour! We know a lot of you are uninspired by Continue Reading →

Dip dye and tweed weddings at Askham Hall

WARNING: Seriously gorgeous inspiration… I have poured over these images for days; seriously stuck on how to blog about this shoot and do it justice. We love our styled shoots. We love getting together with the best in the business and develop an idea. We love taking those first kernels, bouncing ideas off secret pinterest boards and designing dresses and accessories specifically to fit the theme and then spending a day on location seeing all our hard work come together. With our part done all we have to do then, is sit back (or on the edge of our seat) while we wait for the images. In most cases we get to see 1 or 2 images later that evening or the following day and maybe 50-60 images a few weeks later. I think it’s testament to how special this shoot is that Tiree’s sneak peek later that evening contained more images than some full shoots we’ve been involved in, and the curated set of images totals a whopping 33o images… 330!… I have absolutely no doubt that this shoot will be picked up by one of our favourite wedding blogs. There are so so many beautiful details that I’m Continue Reading →

Woodland Wedding featured on Boho Weddings

Recently we had the pleasure of collaborating on a shoot with WeddingNet; a group of wedding suppliers in and around Bolton who get together to inspire and learn from each other. We’ve had the pleasure of working with several members of the groups on many occasions and LOVED how our Woodland inspired shoot turned out. It was also featured on Boho Weddings… our favourite source of inspiration for those of you wanting a natural and outdoorsy wedding Woodland Wedding Inspiration We LOVE everything woodland. We love nature. I’m sure you can see from our designs that we find a lot of inspiration in our surroundings and see the magic in the forests… the landscapes of fairy tales. So we were REALLY excited to work on this Woodland Wedding theme. With the changing seasons we wanted to show how, as a team, WeddingNet works with our surroundings to inspire our brides. Kilhey Court is surrounded by the most gorgeous natural woodland so we let this guide our styling, choosing to split the shoot into two scenes; an almost wild whimsical woodland scene created in the atmospheric woodland of Kilhey Court and a more sophisticated interpretation of woodland weddings brought in to Continue Reading →

Hipping Hall Winter style Part 1 featured on So You’re Getting Married

You know we love a styled shoot; it’s one of the best ways for us to see our designs come alive (other than at real weddings of course), so we were excited when Megan at Typical Type invited us to collaborate on this glamorous winter shoot at Hipping Hall. As we explored the idea of a winter shoot and the team came together it became obvious that there were 2 scenes we wanted to create. A warm and cosy ‘day’ style and a glamorous and elegant ‘night’ style. We were really excited to be working alongside the suppliers that Megan hand picked and we LOVE the collection of images that evolved; we know you will too… Day Lyra Wedding Dress and Altair Shoulder Jewellery Lyra and Altair are from our spring 2015 collection Lyra is a luxurious Duchess satin sweetheart gown, fully boned and nipping in at the waist. Frothy jagged layers of tulle flare out from underneath hand embellished lace appliqués and pearl strings. The dress has a modest chapel length train that flows when you walk. The tulle starts at the hips and billows out behind. We are so excited by Altair, our shoulder jewellery design. The lace Continue Reading →

Winter Weddings at Hipping Hall part 2 featured on So You’re Getting Married

Here is the second part of our styled shoot at Hipping Hall. You can see the first part, all about the day style here. Now we are all about… Night Ara, crystal chain backless wedding dress Ara is simply breathtaking! We cannot describe how beautiful this dress really is (the fact that our model now wants us to make an evening dress version is testament to how great this dress will make you feel). The heavy and sumptuous satin is cut on the bias to skim over your hips and pool around your feet and feels absolutely amazing when you walk. The dress is encrusted with a combination of claw diamante in various sizes and given that rock edge by combining with spikes (although these don’t have to be incorporated into your design). The diamanté chains are wrapped around your silhouette in such a way as to flatter your lines and give the most stunning detail on the deeply cut away back. The Sidhe; 2014 Legend Bridal Collection

The Sidhe Collection has been designed to capture the blithe and graceful nature of the Sidhe. For those of you not familiar with this Irish folklore let me tell you the story… The Sidhe are the royalty of the Seelie Court. They are the ancestors that created all faery. They are serene, composed and grounded. They frequently travel the pathways between our worlds; the doorways between their glittering palaces and our lands lying among the ruins of our ancient buildings. They are also fabled to be muses, the poets, musicians and dancers, the artists connected to every creative talent. They cause an immense feeling of joy in humans and try to remain unseen. Perfect inspiration for a bridal collection don’t you think? The five Sidhe are made up of Alvarie, Aubrey, Donella, Brielle and Shaylee are feminine and delicate in design, with fabrics that flow like water, cuts that dance on the breeze and silhouettes that drape softly around the bride giving that ethereal enchantment like stepping out from a beautiful dream.
