Dream to Dress by Christine Murrell

As those of you who follow us quite closely will know, we love to share our brides with you; a few images from the big day to give you a glimpse into their wedding and to show you all the different ways in which you can make your wedding and your dress completely you. We are particularly proud to share Chris and Mike’s wedding with you today. Not only because we LOVE how everything came together and the time we spent getting to know them as a couple, but also because Christine has very kindly agreed to talk a bit about why she chose us to create her wedding dress and how she found the whole process. We know choosing your wedding dress is a big decision made all the bigger for choosing something that doesn’t yet exist… so here is Christine’s experience… So…..I said yes, venue booked, photographer lined up, cake tasted but what to wear? As I am a mature bride perhaps the dress /jacket combo was the safe way to go but as a good friend pointed out I was the Bride not a guest!!This was an occasion for something a bit more than the usual, to Continue Reading →

Rachel and Kevin’s Bonfire night wedding at Sefton Palm house

The eagle eyed among you will have seen Rachel on our round up of EWE wedding fair a few weeks ago. She’s one of our brides that came with us to strut her stuff in Birmingham, so it seems only right that we share a bit of her wedding with you guys.   …And what a flipping gorgeous wedding!!! Rachel and Kevin chose Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool on Bonfire weekend and as a result their wedding was ablaze with amazing autumnal colours and plenty of sparklers. Jonny Draper Photography had the honours of capturing the day and the pictures are just incredible! Do you realise how difficult it’s been to only pick a few pictures to share with you? As for the dress… it couldn’t have been any more perfect for a glittering wedding reception. Rachel’s bodice is completely encrusted with rhinestones. We LOVE how the slight off the shoulder design flows into a deep V neckline at the back. And that skirt, well, dark pewter satin overlaid with glittering ombre shades of tulle and organza in layers that cascade around the jagged hem. It was an absolute pleasure working with Rachel to develop this totally unique and Continue Reading →

Vegas Vow renewal

Usually, when I sit down to write about one of our resent weddings I know where the blog is heading, but Elaine and Mik’s wedding is different. It’s a vow renewal for a start! How cool is that? I’m trying to think now how many vow renewals we’ve made dresses for, and out of the hundreds of dresses we’ve made I can probably count them on one hand. It’s one of those things that as a new bride you easily imagine reliving on your 10 or 20 year anniversary but how many of us actually do it? Well, Elaine and Mik that’s who! Not only that but they went to Vegas and had Elvis perform the ceremony in a little white chapel with a pink Cadillac. Can they get any more awesome? Well yes – they topped it off with matching tattoos. These guys just know how to do it. We had the pleasure of watching their ceremony via a live feed and OMG it was perfect… Coming down the aisle to ‘Can’t help falling in love’, promising not to step on each others blue suede shoes with the curled lip uh-hu-hu and dancing out to (let me be your) Continue Reading →

We’ve been quiet but look at everything we’ve been up to…

You know we’re busy right? The ‘I don’t even have time to check my shirt is on the right way out’ kinda busy. The ‘I’m placing orders twice because I’d rather have 2 than find out I didn’t order any’ kinda busy. The kinda busy where if a job takes more than 30 seconds to complete and isn’t directly connected to a brides order it simply gets added to the ever increasing ‘to do’ list. I bleat on about it ALL the time. I feel like I’m constantly harping on about how little time there is in a day or the things I’ve yet to do… or maybe I don’t? I realise that even though I have this constant monologue going on in my head, very rarely does it leek out. And instead of telling you guys how crazy busy we are, or how our appointments are booked up for several weeks or that we’re not taking any more orders for this summer, it simply looks like we’ve gone quiet. Because writing a blog post takes time. And time feels like an ever decreasing commodity. As a result several weeks have passed since our last update and I’m scared by Continue Reading →

Vicky and John’s Boho Stydd Garden Wedding

Vicky has to be one of the most fun loving and laid back brides that we have ever had the pleasure to work with and these wedding pictures by Foxley Photography really show the laughter and fun of Vicky and John’s wedding day. Vicky’s bohemian dream wedding dress looks absolutely amazing on her; completely backless, barely there bodice and full length lace skirt with cut away lining… we really LOVE how Vicky’s dress came together and I’m going to share a little bit of the process with you here as I feel it will help some of you reading this. There really are no limits. If you can imagine it, we can make it. However that in itself can be daunting. There is a confidence in knowing exactly what you want and being able to describe it down to a ‘T’ but what if you have a bundle of ideas or just know how you want it to make you feel? Well we can help there too. ANYTHING is possible and you don’t have to have a fully formed idea of exactly what you want before coming to us. Vicky knew the aesthetic she was looking for but was struggling Continue Reading →

Ellen and Alex’s ELfestivAL Wedding

The first real wedding we are going to share in 2017 is the awesome wedding of wedding planner Ellen to her husband Alex that was recently featured on Festival Brides… With a love for music and all things Mexican, Ellen and Alex created the most amazing ELfestivAL… you just have to check out all the amazing detail on the Festival Brides blog.   As for her dress, Ellen had a clear idea of her perfect dress, right down to the type of lace she was looking for, and try as she might she simply couldn’t find it. So what does a wedding planner do in times of need? She reaches out to her friends in the industry for recommendations for bridal designers that could create what she was looking for. We were humbled to discover that we came highly recommended by more than a few businesses and more than pleased Ellen was willing to make the 4 hour round trip for her dress fittings. Being the creative soul that she is she really let her sense of style and individuality shine through. Our favourite bit? the gold veil by HF couture. I mean, a gold veil! Here is a closer Continue Reading →

Victoria + Paul; a tweed wedding for our competition winners

We love Victoria and Paul. If ever there was a couple so utterly made for each other then surely they are it. So before we get into blogging about Victoria and Paul’s wedding and how much we loved being a part of it we need to tell you that Victoria and Paul were the winners of ZT Photography’s competition that was run earlier in the year. We were very privileged to be able to host a competition where one of our brides (for Legend brides are absolutely the best brides ever) won their wedding photography… yes… won their wedding photography! What an epic prize! Needless to say, all the images included in this post are courtesy of ZT Photography, and to say that just 4 weeks before their wedding Victoria & Paul had to change all their plans, I think their wedding was AMAZING. (It’s also the reason we were honoured to be able to offer Victoria and Paul get ready at our little shop before the short walk to the registry office). Victoria and Paul… We very rarely get to meet our grooms, in fact in the hundreds of brides we’ve helped get ready for their wedding (and thinking Continue Reading →
