Vicky and John’s Boho Stydd Garden Wedding

Vicky has to be one of the most fun loving and laid back brides that we have ever had the pleasure to work with and these wedding pictures by Foxley Photography really show the laughter and fun of Vicky and John’s wedding day. Vicky’s bohemian dream wedding dress looks absolutely amazing on her; completely backless, barely there bodice and full length lace skirt with cut away lining… we really LOVE how Vicky’s dress came together and I’m going to share a little bit of the process with you here as I feel it will help some of you reading this. There really are no limits. If you can imagine it, we can make it. However that in itself can be daunting. There is a confidence in knowing exactly what you want and being able to describe it down to a ‘T’ but what if you have a bundle of ideas or just know how you want it to make you feel? Well we can help there too. ANYTHING is possible and you don’t have to have a fully formed idea of exactly what you want before coming to us. Vicky knew the aesthetic she was looking for but was struggling Continue Reading →

Ellen and Alex’s ELfestivAL Wedding

The first real wedding we are going to share in 2017 is the awesome wedding of wedding planner Ellen to her husband Alex that was recently featured on Festival Brides… With a love for music and all things Mexican, Ellen and Alex created the most amazing ELfestivAL… you just have to check out all the amazing detail on the Festival Brides blog.   As for her dress, Ellen had a clear idea of her perfect dress, right down to the type of lace she was looking for, and try as she might she simply couldn’t find it. So what does a wedding planner do in times of need? She reaches out to her friends in the industry for recommendations for bridal designers that could create what she was looking for. We were humbled to discover that we came highly recommended by more than a few businesses and more than pleased Ellen was willing to make the 4 hour round trip for her dress fittings. Being the creative soul that she is she really let her sense of style and individuality shine through. Our favourite bit? the gold veil by HF couture. I mean, a gold veil! Here is a closer Continue Reading →

Victoria + Paul; a tweed wedding for our competition winners

We love Victoria and Paul. If ever there was a couple so utterly made for each other then surely they are it. So before we get into blogging about Victoria and Paul’s wedding and how much we loved being a part of it we need to tell you that Victoria and Paul were the winners of ZT Photography’s competition that was run earlier in the year. We were very privileged to be able to host a competition where one of our brides (for Legend brides are absolutely the best brides ever) won their wedding photography… yes… won their wedding photography! What an epic prize! Needless to say, all the images included in this post are courtesy of ZT Photography, and to say that just 4 weeks before their wedding Victoria & Paul had to change all their plans, I think their wedding was AMAZING. (It’s also the reason we were honoured to be able to offer Victoria and Paul get ready at our little shop before the short walk to the registry office). Victoria and Paul… We very rarely get to meet our grooms, in fact in the hundreds of brides we’ve helped get ready for their wedding (and thinking Continue Reading →

Jo & Gary’s amazing rainbow wedding!

You know when someone describes their wedding to you and you get way too excited for your own good? Well that happened when Jo got in touch back in January. The more we talked about her ideas the more we knew we HAD to make dresses for her and her bridesmaids. With just 7 months to the wedding and having already closed the order books for this summer we would normally have had to decline Jo’s request. However Jo’s ideas were really cool and we could already imagine how awesome her and her 5 bridesmaids would look. We knew we couldn’t turn the wedding down. Instead we pushed up our sleeves, worked longer hours and started the hunt for sewing room assistants (but that’s another story). Fast forward 7 months and Jo and Gary are now Mr and Mrs Keane. You have no idea how excited we were to see a link to their wedding images in our inbox! Well, here you can see why. We’ve picked out a few to share with you here but you’re able to see more of Jo & Gary’s wedding via this link to Brendan Beelby Photography on Facebook Jo Designed her own dress. Continue Reading →

Michelle and Martyn’s NYC elopement

We’ve known Michelle a few years. In fact she’s modeled for us on a couple of occasions over that time (here you can see the Sidhe shoot and the Wycollar shoot). And you could be forgiven for thinking these beautiful images are part of another styled shoot, but no, this is Michelle and Martyn’s real life wedding… Michelle approached us right at the beginning of her wedding planning process. She had a firm idea of what she wanted her dress to be like and had started to book the other aspects of her wedding. We were so excited to hear all her ideas and to be involved. A few short weeks later, Michelle and Martyn decided to bring their wedding forward 6 months to elope to New York and get married in secret; and what a beautiful time they had, just them, their gorgeous family and their amazing photographer Teresa C Photography. Michelle’s dress was unlike any we’ve made before; several layers of different laces all working together to build a beautiful deep texture, not only layered to create a unique lace of it’s own but several layers of the combination working together to create a multi-layered, vintage inspired and Continue Reading →

Sugar skulls and sunflowers

Laura knew exactly what she wanted; Sugar skulls, rainbows and for each of her bridesmaids to wear something different. I’m not sure whether she’d hunted us down to come and see us at Great Northern Wedding Show or whether it was a happy coincidence that our paths crossed at that fair, but it was one of those easy conversations that quickly revealed we were a perfect for for each other… Laura: I’m looking for a tea length wedding dress but with proper frothy petticoats… Me: like these? Laura: yes, and I want my wedding dress to have loads of colour and maybe, somehow, have sugar skulls incorporated in it? Me: sure thing, we can embroider traditional sugar skull designs on your dress in any colours you want *tries not to jump up and down* Laura: and what about bridesmaids, I want them all different Me: no problem, we can do different colours, styles, anything really Laura: OK, can I make an appointment Me: *does a little dance* That was it, decision made… You should have seen our excitement as we worked out the Dia de los Muertos embroideries, chose colours and other design details. And I don’t think we’ve ever Continue Reading →

Eli & Luke’s red & black wedding

We first met Eli at The Great Northern Wedding show and after a sea of ivory lace it was our stand and in particular Chandra that drew Eli’s attention. Eli had loads of ideas she wanted to incorporate in to her dress, but it was Vega that inspired her to take the design and make it her own… Ivory satin bodice with tulle overlay illusion neckline, full high/low hem with train, trailing black and red petals, and teamed with black petticoats trimmed in red. We love how the red and black work together! And Eli’s fabulous red hair and beautiful red roses… don’t they make a gorgeous couple? Thank you Eli… we LOVED being a part of your day.
