We survived August! Hello wedding fair season…
It’s August Bank holiday weekend, which can only mean one thing… we did it! We totally rocked it and got a record number of brides (maids, mums and grooms too) ready for their big day – and we cannot wait to see pics from all our brides! You may have noticed that our Instagram and Facebook pages have been quiet of late, not to mention the tumbleweed on our Twitter and Pinterest profiles, but that’s because we have been absolutely mowed out. Thankfully this weekend marks a turning point from crazy busy (seriously we had 18 weddings in one weekend!) to comfortably busy. And as the weather starts to turn from glorious sunshine, our thoughts transition to the coming season and everything that that brings.
Part of the new season is getting involved in wedding fairs and filling up our Sundays with cool and original wedding fairs. You won’t find us at exhibition centers or big hotel chains – we hunt out beautiful historic buildings, contemporary industrial spaces or quirky country venues and we do have a couple already lined up…
Wedding Open day 9th September
A free Wedding Open Day for couples interested in holding their ceremony or reception in Manchester’s oldest buildings, dating back to 1421. Choose a time slot to spend an hour with our wedding coordinator, exploring our different spaces and picking up your special Wedding Goodie Bag! With each time slot limited to a maximum of five couples, you’ll have time and space to ask questions, explore the site and speak to our exhibitors about plans for your special day.
Urban Luxe at Holmes Mill
Sunday 23rd September with Brides Up North
This Urban Luxe wedding fair is definitely one for your diary if you’re looking for cool contemporary wedding suppliers. Keeping loyal to its industrial roots Holmes Mill Function Room bears all the natural textured walls, exposed beams and period character that you would expect from a building that has lasted the decades… and of course houses it’s own brewery. Enough said!

Can you guess which of the 4 seasons above is ours?… yes! absolutely – Autumn Fire!!!
So as we start to make plans for the next few months we were rather shocked to realise that we have been here in Great Harwood for almost a year now… how on earth did that happen? We got the keys in September and opened in Great Harwood in October. Looking back over the last year we can see that we’ve done a LOT since moving premises and our business has changed so much. Legend also turns 5 in November, so I am feeling a huge catch up blog brewing. Oh and we have plans… oh boy do we have plans.
