The Legend Bridal Alternative Catwalk – Great Northern Wedding Show

So, It’s August Bank holiday weekend which means it’s just 3 weeks until our catwalk at the Great Northern Wedding Show at Bolton Arena on the 18th September. We’ve been exhibiting at the Great Northern Wedding Show for a good few years now and I think this is the 4th time we’ve done our own alternative catwalk. It’s always such a talking point and so lovely to inspire so many of you to be your own quirky selves on your wedding day. So what can we expect this time? Well, we have our Legendary girls; our diamonds who bring their awesomeness and strut their stuff on the catwalk. We have TWO award winning stylists, Sonara Parker (Make up artist) and Duncan Fisher (Hair Designer) working ALL DAY behind the scenes to get our girls catwalk ready. These super talented artists are the perfect team to add that extra bit of drama to compliment our dresses. We work with these guys a lot. You just need to check out a few of our shoots to see how amazing these guys are. A collaboration with Paragon Floral Design. We LOVE their innovative floral design and have been working with them on an Continue Reading →

Grunge Biker Wedding inspiration to die for

So, 2 minutes ago we were on the run up to the Great Northern Wedding show and looking for models. All of a sudden it’s June… JUNE!!! May has been, without a doubt, our busiest month so far. It seems to be taking over most summer months as the choice for weddings. Maybe it’s the double whammy of Bank Holidays or maybe it’s just because the weather tends to be quite beautiful; either way it meant we were pretty much locked in the sewing room for the whole of May. As a result, everything non-imminent wedding related has been put on hold – planning our autumn collection (yeah totally out the window), getting involved in shoots (delayed until after wedding season), keeping up with the world (what – there’s stuff happening outside our door?), buying light bulbs (yes, seriously need light bulbs!). It’s also meant that we have a backlog of gorgeous we still need to share with you… Grunge Biker Wedding Inspiration Back at the beginning of the year, when Kate and Lisa of Paragon Floral Design got in touch asking if we wanted to be involved in a collaborative shoot we knew instantly we would say yes. Sugar skulls and sunflowers

Laura knew exactly what she wanted; Sugar skulls, rainbows and for each of her bridesmaids to wear something different. I’m not sure whether she’d hunted us down to come and see us at Great Northern Wedding Show or whether it was a happy coincidence that our paths crossed at that fair, but it was one of those easy conversations that quickly revealed we were a perfect for for each other… Laura: I’m looking for a tea length wedding dress but with proper frothy petticoats… Me: like these? Laura: yes, and I want my wedding dress to have loads of colour and maybe, somehow, have sugar skulls incorporated in it? Me: sure thing, we can embroider traditional sugar skull designs on your dress in any colours you want *tries not to jump up and down* Laura: and what about bridesmaids, I want them all different Me: no problem, we can do different colours, styles, anything really Laura: OK, can I make an appointment Me: *does a little dance* That was it, decision made… You should have seen our excitement as we worked out the Dia de los Muertos embroideries, chose colours and other design details. And I don’t think we’ve ever Continue Reading →

Sarah and Matt at Eaves Hall

We first met Sarah and Matt at a wedding fair at Browsholme Hall. We’d spent the day chatting to various brides, however my conversation with Sarah in particular stands out. As we talked about her wedding plans I could see the idea of having her dress made take hold. I’m pretty sure the idea of a bespoke wedding dress hadn’t occurred to Sarah before our conversation, but as we discussed various styles and I was able to show exactly what she was describing it was easy to see the excitement grow. At the end of the day, while we packed up and chatted about the conversations we’d had that day, I was struck by how disappointed I would be if Sarah didn’t become one of our brides. I was quite excited then to see her name in our new Facebook followers, and later see her name pop up in our Instagram. It wasn’t long before there was a ping in our inbox and we’d booked Sarah in for a consultation. One of the really exciting things for us was that Sarah chose one of our designs in a custom colour. The beauty of bespoke is that you are in complete Continue Reading →

Great Northern Wedding Show with Alternative Catwalk by Legend Bridal

We love the Great Northern Wedding Show. We have exhibited there with Little White Books a couple of times and we love everything about it; the atmosphere, the number of amazing exhibitors, the interest we receive from the brides and grooms that attend the show. The thing that makes this one particularly exciting for us is that we are bringing you our own alternative bridal catwalk show! HOW EXCITING IS THAT!?! We get to bring our more dramatic dresses, enlist the help of our very own models (real women with curves and tattoos) and have had fun putting together a killer soundtrack (absolutely no Bruno Mars in sight!) The catwalk show is at 3pm so make sure you are there in plenty of time. We also have a stand and will be there all day. If you’re interested in having a chat about the possibility of us making your dress please do come and say hi  and please be aware that it may be difficult to chat to us AFTER the catwalk show. Oh and you can get in free when you pre-register
