We’ve been quiet but look at everything we’ve been up to…

You know we’re busy right? The ‘I don’t even have time to check my shirt is on the right way out’ kinda busy. The ‘I’m placing orders twice because I’d rather have 2 than find out I didn’t order any’ kinda busy. The kinda busy where if a job takes more than 30 seconds to complete and isn’t directly connected to a brides order it simply gets added to the ever increasing ‘to do’ list. I bleat on about it ALL the time. I feel like I’m constantly harping on about how little time there is in a day or the things I’ve yet to do… or maybe I don’t? I realise that even though I have this constant monologue going on in my head, very rarely does it leek out. And instead of telling you guys how crazy busy we are, or how our appointments are booked up for several weeks or that we’re not taking any more orders for this summer, it simply looks like we’ve gone quiet. Because writing a blog post takes time. And time feels like an ever decreasing commodity. As a result several weeks have passed since our last update and I’m scared by Continue Reading →

New Design – Anise, 2 piece wedding dress

When we first saw the images from this Flower Fairies shoot we were blown away. Not only were we in love with the images detailing our work but we were in awe of all the details and work everyone else had put into the shoot. We are always proud and excited by the teams we work with but to be on blog post number 4 and still finding new details to share… well, I’m lost for words. We created three dresses for this shoot and have already shared Erica and Nerine. This blog post is all about Anise and the woodland setting… Anise is part of our growing collection of bridal separates. It’s a two piece gown; off the shoulder lace crop top and full chiffon skirt. We love the relaxed charm of mixing and matching and the versatility of switching up your look throughout the day. And doesn’t Sadie look positively elfin? Aimee and Katy worked their magic in that effortless manner of seasoned pros creating the perfect makeup and hair. Combine that with gorgeous floral details and touches of tweed and I’m in love with the whole woodland feel. And that circlet instead of a bouquet – simply Continue Reading →

New Design – Nerine, dip dye tulle wedding dress

We LOVE all things dip dye. We have been experimenting with dye of late, discovering which dying techniques and fabrics bring out the most amazing textures and dying lace is just far too exciting! There are so many different types of lace and so many qualities of thread that you get the most amazing variations in colour. Nerine is a combination of our most thrilling discoveries; dip dyed lace with overlays of dip dyed tulle in various shades of raspberry. We just LOVE how the tulle softens the colours and creates the most gorgeous ombre effect *dreamy* Nerine was one of three dresses created for our collaborative Flower Fairies styled shoot that was recently featured on Whimisical Wonderland Weddings. We have looked at Erica in more detail already and Anise will follow shortly Accessories: We also love experimenting with accessories and created THE CUTEST lace hooded bolero and floral forehead jewellery. Well, we think the Bolero is too cute for words; a perfect alternative to the traditional veil The Shoot: As I mentioned previously, this shoot was featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings:… Credits of everyone involved are listed below – I wholeheartedly recommend everyone we worked with on this shoot Continue Reading →

Dip dye and tweed weddings at Askham Hall

WARNING: Seriously gorgeous inspiration… I have poured over these images for days; seriously stuck on how to blog about this shoot and do it justice. We love our styled shoots. We love getting together with the best in the business and develop an idea. We love taking those first kernels, bouncing ideas off secret pinterest boards and designing dresses and accessories specifically to fit the theme and then spending a day on location seeing all our hard work come together. With our part done all we have to do then, is sit back (or on the edge of our seat) while we wait for the images. In most cases we get to see 1 or 2 images later that evening or the following day and maybe 50-60 images a few weeks later. I think it’s testament to how special this shoot is that Tiree’s sneak peek later that evening contained more images than some full shoots we’ve been involved in, and the curated set of images totals a whopping 33o images… 330!… I have absolutely no doubt that this shoot will be picked up by one of our favourite wedding blogs. There are so so many beautiful details that I’m Continue Reading →
