Here’s to our models…

The crazy girls who say yes to our silly ideas, who suffer inhuman poses ‘in the name of art’ and endure bitter weather conditions to help us get the perfect shot. Our gorgeous girls that hold their breath, squeeze their muscles and clench their buttocks to maintain a pose long enough for the conditions to be right. Who balance candles in the palms of their hands while hyperaware that hot wax could drip onto the dress and lie on stone cold floors or in frozen lakes because that’s what the brief requires. Here’s to our girls, who allow us to primp and preen them to within an inch of their lives; let us backcomb their hair into a birds nest and apply makeup they could never imagine themselves wearing; who let us dress them in all manner of outfits without a hint of bemusement and ask them to walk in shoes we wouldn’t attempt to wear ourselves. You girls rock! We are only too aware of what we ask of you; it’s a hard job and a long day and you girls are amazing… Thank you! IMAGE CREDITS… please see specific image for photographer details. New Design – Anise, 2 piece wedding dress

When we first saw the images from this Flower Fairies shoot we were blown away. Not only were we in love with the images detailing our work but we were in awe of all the details and work everyone else had put into the shoot. We are always proud and excited by the teams we work with but to be on blog post number 4 and still finding new details to share… well, I’m lost for words. We created three dresses for this shoot and have already shared Erica and Nerine. This blog post is all about Anise and the woodland setting… Anise is part of our growing collection of bridal separates. It’s a two piece gown; off the shoulder lace crop top and full chiffon skirt. We love the relaxed charm of mixing and matching and the versatility of switching up your look throughout the day. And doesn’t Sadie look positively elfin? Aimee and Katy worked their magic in that effortless manner of seasoned pros creating the perfect makeup and hair. Combine that with gorgeous floral details and touches of tweed and I’m in love with the whole woodland feel. And that circlet instead of a bouquet – simply Continue Reading →

New Design – Nerine, dip dye tulle wedding dress

We LOVE all things dip dye. We have been experimenting with dye of late, discovering which dying techniques and fabrics bring out the most amazing textures and dying lace is just far too exciting! There are so many different types of lace and so many qualities of thread that you get the most amazing variations in colour. Nerine is a combination of our most thrilling discoveries; dip dyed lace with overlays of dip dyed tulle in various shades of raspberry. We just LOVE how the tulle softens the colours and creates the most gorgeous ombre effect *dreamy* Nerine was one of three dresses created for our collaborative Flower Fairies styled shoot that was recently featured on Whimisical Wonderland Weddings. We have looked at Erica in more detail already and Anise will follow shortly Accessories: We also love experimenting with accessories and created THE CUTEST lace hooded bolero and floral forehead jewellery. Well, we think the Bolero is too cute for words; a perfect alternative to the traditional veil The Shoot: As I mentioned previously, this shoot was featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings:… Credits of everyone involved are listed below – I wholeheartedly recommend everyone we worked with on this shoot Continue Reading →

Hipping Hall Winter style Part 1 featured on So You’re Getting Married

You know we love a styled shoot; it’s one of the best ways for us to see our designs come alive (other than at real weddings of course), so we were excited when Megan at Typical Type invited us to collaborate on this glamorous winter shoot at Hipping Hall. As we explored the idea of a winter shoot and the team came together it became obvious that there were 2 scenes we wanted to create. A warm and cosy ‘day’ style and a glamorous and elegant ‘night’ style. We were really excited to be working alongside the suppliers that Megan hand picked and we LOVE the collection of images that evolved; we know you will too… Day Lyra Wedding Dress and Altair Shoulder Jewellery Lyra and Altair are from our spring 2015 collection Lyra is a luxurious Duchess satin sweetheart gown, fully boned and nipping in at the waist. Frothy jagged layers of tulle flare out from underneath hand embellished lace appliqués and pearl strings. The dress has a modest chapel length train that flows when you walk. The tulle starts at the hips and billows out behind. We are so excited by Altair, our shoulder jewellery design. The lace Continue Reading →

Winter Weddings at Hipping Hall part 2 featured on So You’re Getting Married

Here is the second part of our styled shoot at Hipping Hall. You can see the first part, all about the day style here. Now we are all about… Night Ara, crystal chain backless wedding dress Ara is simply breathtaking! We cannot describe how beautiful this dress really is (the fact that our model now wants us to make an evening dress version is testament to how great this dress will make you feel). The heavy and sumptuous satin is cut on the bias to skim over your hips and pool around your feet and feels absolutely amazing when you walk. The dress is encrusted with a combination of claw diamante in various sizes and given that rock edge by combining with spikes (although these don’t have to be incorporated into your design). The diamanté chains are wrapped around your silhouette in such a way as to flatter your lines and give the most stunning detail on the deeply cut away back.
