We’ve been quiet but look at everything we’ve been up to…

You know we’re busy right? The ‘I don’t even have time to check my shirt is on the right way out’ kinda busy. The ‘I’m placing orders twice because I’d rather have 2 than find out I didn’t order any’ kinda busy. The kinda busy where if a job takes more than 30 seconds to complete and isn’t directly connected to a brides order it simply gets added to the ever increasing ‘to do’ list. I bleat on about it ALL the time. I feel like I’m constantly harping on about how little time there is in a day or the things I’ve yet to do… or maybe I don’t? I realise that even though I have this constant monologue going on in my head, very rarely does it leek out. And instead of telling you guys how crazy busy we are, or how our appointments are booked up for several weeks or that we’re not taking any more orders for this summer, it simply looks like we’ve gone quiet. Because writing a blog post takes time. And time feels like an ever decreasing commodity. As a result several weeks have passed since our last update and I’m scared by Continue Reading →

Vikings inspired bridal shoot at Lowther Castle

So what happens when you have ideas overflowing? We have created a couple of Game of Thrones and Medieval inspired wedding dress this summer  and have loved every minute. We really got into the zone and had dress ideas spilling out all over the place so when Tiree and Megan got in touch to discuss concepts for our third project together we knew we had to suggest a lavish and contemporary interpretation of Vikings. We have worked with Tiree (Tiree Dawson Photography) and Megan (Typical Type) on our En Hiver and Flower Fairies shoots and while the 3 of us were discussing concepts for our third project together that the idea of luxury Viking wedding inspiration really took hold… it was the perfect time for Typical Type to launch their TOPtable and Tiree was itching to return to Lowther Castle in Penrith. … this was going to be EPIC! We set about finding the right suppliers for the project; likeminded suppliers whose creativity and passion really stand out. On our shoots we really like to encourage people to take inspiration from our shared pinboards.  It’s about a mood, a feel, showing couples what they might want to consider for their Continue Reading →

New Design – Erica, heather blossom inspired bridal gown

You may have seen glimpses of this dress in our previous post on the Flower Fairies shoot or seen it featured on Whimisal Wedding Wonderland blog, but there is just so much gorgeousness and inspiration in that project that its waaaay to easy to get distracted by the styling details by Nina Marika, or drool over the Macaron tower by Medici Macerons. I know you’re busy trying to book the adorable heart lights by Typical Type and that you’ve all already checked whether Tiree is available to photograph your wedding. There is so much LOVE for this shoot. I still get lost pouring over the images… you have no idea how long this little blog has taken me to write! So I thought it was about time I took a closer look and shared our 3 creations in more detail. We have talked about Nerine, Anise will follow shortley, but here is Erica… Erica We named this dress Erica as we took inspiration from the Ericacaea family (or Heather to you and me). Tiny heather coloured blossoms clustered in stems that trail over the delicate lace detail. That’s the first thing you see… colour! We know a lot of you are uninspired by Continue Reading →

Dip dye and tweed weddings at Askham Hall

WARNING: Seriously gorgeous inspiration… I have poured over these images for days; seriously stuck on how to blog about this shoot and do it justice. We love our styled shoots. We love getting together with the best in the business and develop an idea. We love taking those first kernels, bouncing ideas off secret pinterest boards and designing dresses and accessories specifically to fit the theme and then spending a day on location seeing all our hard work come together. With our part done all we have to do then, is sit back (or on the edge of our seat) while we wait for the images. In most cases we get to see 1 or 2 images later that evening or the following day and maybe 50-60 images a few weeks later. I think it’s testament to how special this shoot is that Tiree’s sneak peek later that evening contained more images than some full shoots we’ve been involved in, and the curated set of images totals a whopping 33o images… 330!… I have absolutely no doubt that this shoot will be picked up by one of our favourite wedding blogs. There are so so many beautiful details that I’m Continue Reading →
