Laura and Paul’s Nordic Game of Thrones Wedding on Rock N Roll Bride

We are so pleased Laura found her way to us. It seems she fell in love with our Lady of the Lake photo shoot (I think I need to share that one again) whilst talking with ZT Photography and knew there and then that the creative team involved in that project would be perfect to bring her wedding ideas to life. From that very first conversation with Laura we were beyond excited. She described her wedding as Contemporary Nordic and her look was going to be heavily inspired by Daenerys Targaryen of Game of Thrones. There were some key design aspects Laura wanted to incorporate into her design; silk and leather, strong shoulders, nipped in waist, an open back, hearts, bling and a skirt that was straight from the front but had a dramatic train… and I think we ticked all those boxes. After those initial consultations with Laura we realized our creative styles were very similar; our suggestions of chains as lace-up and the contrast of spikes and crystals in the embellishment were met with eager excitement and layering the hearts on the train to look like dragon scales was far too exciting. Legend Bridal Alternative Catwalk

We are only 5 weeks away from our alternative catwalk at the Great Northern Wedding Show on the 20th September. I’m not going to lie, we’re not ready. It’s the height of the wedding season and all our attention is quite rightly devoted to our brides. We have plenty of plans; new dresses we want to create, grand ideas about our show and huge plans for our stand. But with our concentration fully on getting our brides ready for their weddings, our preparations for the Great Northern Wedding Show will quite definitely be last minute dot com. This is where our amazing friends come in… we are going to be relying heavily on the help of our friends to get us ready (hope you’re reading this guys… count yourselves roped in!) That said, I’m sat here trying to work out what music we should use for our different catwalk scenes and thought it would be interesting to look back at our April show… (all images by ZT Photography) Pre-register for the next show on the 20th September Retro Rockabilly We opened the show with tattoos, petticoats and parasols set to the cutest track by Evelyn Knight from 1948… ‘A Little Continue Reading →

Bev and Bryn’s red and black zebra infused wedding

We are always saying that all our brides are individual. Everyone’s style and influences are different and we never make the same dress twice. That said we do see trends; similar design elements or similar colour themes. For us though, when Bev was describing what she wanted for her wedding and her bridesmaids dresses all we could say was YES! 6 bridesmaids, all with a different style, all in red, black and white with elements of Zebra print… the ideas immediately started to flow! (and we were doubly excited to find out our good friends Zoe and Liam at ZT Photography were capturing their day… see the full wedding here) We worked with Bev and the girls to design and create 6 individual bridesmaids dresses; 2 adult bridesmaids dresses, 2 older teen bridesmaids and 2 flower girls. All wanting to express their personality and tailor the design to their preferences. Here are some more images from the day courtesy of ZT Photography:
