Gothic Luxe - Black, Green and Gold styled shoots
One of the most frustrating things about lockdown is finally having time to dedicate to styled shoots, building our portfolio and sharing our creations and not being allowed to organise shoots to do just that.
Lucky for us, we did manage to squeeze in a couple of shoots last year and with the weirdness of the world I’ve only just realised I didn’t blog this gorgeously dramatic and luxurious botanical Gothic styled shoot yet… so here we are!
This shoot was organised in collaboration with our little coven of alternative wedding creatives for The Curious Place at Bliss Wedding Shows… now that’s an introduction of sorts.
We have exhibited with Bliss Wedding Shows for a couple of years now and we eagerly anticipate being able to showcase with them in Liverpool in September… the main reason being their alternative corner; The Curious Place, specifically curated for the couples wanting a less traditional wedding.
So where did the idea come from? We wanted to create a gorgeously dark and gothic styled wedding, but in a less traditional colour way. I’ve been obsessed with green and anything plant related for ages. Every windowsill is littered with plants and my home is slowly being taken over with gnarly looking succulents and evergreens. And to bring in that added luxury we wanted to incorporate golds and loads of texture like plush velvets. Luckily Bliss knew of The Bliss Hotel in Southport that had just redecorated this exact colourway! (with a slightly retro vide thrown in for good measure).
Dress :: Persephone
This dress gets so much attention in our studio, but it’s only ever been shot once before so this was the perfect opportunity. The ultimate Gothic princess; demure off the shoulder design with deep V neckline, trailing lace and beaded arm chains with cascades of black tulle ruffles… one of our favourites, but most time consuming makes.
Everyone involved in this shoot can be found at The Curious Place, so it’s the perfect opportunity to see us all in one place in the knowledge that we work well together. It also gives us the opportunity to hang out with these amazing alternative wedding suppliers who share our passion for truly individual and alternative weddings
