Lauren & Simon's Cosy Gothic Winter Wedding
Now, we’re a little bit behind on sharing our gorgeous real weddings with you! Something about covid really knocked the sharing side out of me - but, we have so many beautiful and inspirational weddings that it would be an absolute crime not to share them!
We had a request this week for our pentagram back lacing on a fitting gown, which reminded me of the beautiful bespoke gown we created for Lauren. Going back over the pictures I realised I just had to share their wedding day with you.
Lauren and Simon got married Halloween 2021 but had started planning well before the pandemic hit. Several date changes, venue closures and stop/starts later, their INCREDIBLE wedding came to life, and OMG It’s taken me literally hours to whittle down the images to share!
Lauren first got in touch at the beginning of 2019. We had just launched our first proper (much smaller) collection. We have specialised in black wedding dresses since we began in 2013 but had only recently decided to totally step away from traditional bridal and focus our attention on darker weddings. It was well before high street bridal shops started stocking black wedding dresses and felt quite risky to narrow our style like that. So I remember clearly knowing that Lauren was travelling quite a distance ‘because we understood her vibe’. It was the start of people beginning to travel quite a distance to see us, and something we feel incredibly proud and humbled about.
Lauren created a bespoke bridal gown design based around several of our other wedding dress designs; she chose the silhouette of Nyx, the pentagram lacing of Zorya, the beaded detail of Demeter with the pewter undertone of Esther… and what a combination it turned out to be!
I just LOVE how the dark pewter satin highlights the delicate black beaded lace. I love the scallop edge creeping down her hands. I LOVE how the pentagram lacing is so clearly a pentagram. And what about the ice blue veil we made for her too!
As the months passed we got to hear about all the amazing details Lauren and Simon had incorporated into the day; highlight of course being the insane bouquet by Maddison Rocks Floral. Just check out the detail; Audrey II, the moon, there’s even a packet of cigarettes discretely nestled in there!
Not to mention the poison garden seating plan \, the amazing copper moon and the woodland vibe table decorations – absolutely stunning! To say my jaw hit the flaw at these stunning images by Chocolate Chip Photography is an understatement.
